As we count down the hours (105) until we leave to bring Isabella home, I find myself increasingly grateful to each and every person who has shared this journey with us. Here are but a few:
Isabella's cousin, Lyssa, whose 8 year old heart broke as she looked at the photos of the orphanage. Lyssa did what she could to help, sending her own money to provide clothes to a girl her age who is living on the other side of the world.
Aunt Kristen, who left her family for the longest period of time ever, to travel with me to love on Isabella, hug the children who still wait, and attend court.
Grandma, with her generous heart, who without hesitation will drop everything to take care of Matthew, whether for a few hours when we need to run to town to get paperwork notarized, or for 7 and 8 days at a time during each trip to Ethiopia.
Our friends, near and far, who have supported us in every way imaginable. We are blessed by your prayers, lifting us up when we are at our weakest. We are thankful for your donations - from rice cereal to clothes, diapers to formula, and everything else in between, it will help make a difference in a child's life. From plowing our driveway to cooking us meals, you have helped us function. We appreciate your kind words and encouragement more than you know.
I am (uncharacteristcally!) at a loss for words. I started drafting this post several days ago and kept coming back to it, each time failing in my attempts to articulate how very much you mean to us.
All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart. May your home be filled with love and your heart be filled with joy as you celebrate this Christmas season.
