The Final Step: Our Embassy Appointment

On Friday, as I was rushing to get around to drive to Portland to shop for a new laptop, our case manager Kiersten called and said “Miracles happen…” It is just three days after court, and we already have an embassy appointment on ***drum roll*** December 27! I called Jon to tell him the good news - he is as excited as I am – then I called Candy at ReachOne Travel and asked her to pull together some flight options.

In three short weeks, we will be leaving to bring Isabella home. Our tentative itinerary has us flying out of Portland on Christmas Eve, landing in Addis Christmas night, and picking Isabella up from Hannah’s Hope the next day. We will go to our embassy appointment on December 27, then receive her Visa and catch a flight back on December 29, arriving home on December 30.

We plan to celebrate my birthday, a late Christmas, and New Year’s Eve on December 31 or January 1, altogether as a family of four. God is good!
