Today, it looks promising that we will get a confirmed appointment with the U.S. Embassy as soon as January 10. The Embassy did ask our agency to provide one additional piece of documentation on our file -- a copy of the police report detailing the investigation into the circumstances of Isabella coming into care. In the request, the Embassy said that the rest of the documents in our file "are a good example of what to provide to our office." I am encouraged!
We are very thankful, again, for our agency. Other parents in our situation are with agencies that are closed through the first of January. Our agency is open, and we are confident that the staff in Ethiopia is working around the clock to gather the information requested. God-willing, we will receive confirmation of our appointment soon so that we can book new tickets and GO!
