I find myself looking forward more and more to the Unofficial Wait List that comes out on Fridays. This list is maintained by other families in the AGCI Ethiopia program. The thought of doing all the calculations makes my head spin, so I will never volunteer, but I do so very much appreciate those who step up to the plate. The Unofficial List makes my day - thank you!
The List works like this: families voluntarily submit their information to the List Master (date added to the Official List and waitlist #). This information is kept confidential by our agency, so the List Master only has voluntarily-submitted information to work from. Because only about 1/3rd of families participate, the Unofficial information is sketchy, but... it's still more information, and I have become an information addict.
As families voluntarily post their referral news, the List is updated accordingly. The past two weeks, there has been a flood of referrals. With all of this activitiy, we are now...*drum roll please*...
UNOFFICIALLY #8/girl!
If referrals continue at this rate, we may receive our referral by the end of May/beginning of June! This would give us a court date in June/July (well before rainy-season closures August-September), and a 'gotcha' day in July/August...
Yes, I'm doing it again. Obsessive number crunching and calender counting. I can't help myself. We have been in the Ethiopia Program since July 2009. There is a reason pregnancy is 9 months - less time and you wouldn't be ready, more time and you would pull your hair out. Well, the stork has been traveling 10 months, and it's time to land. This mama is going stir crazy!
