One Child
There are both critics of and apologists for international adoption (see Reading List). In the midst of the debate, we believe that:
- Our family wants and needs a little girl, and somewhere out there a little girl wants and need us.
- Famine and poverty are like many other challenges at the individual, family, community, state, national, and global levels: funding alone will only mask the symptoms, not solve the underlying problems. If the underlying problem is not addressed , money - even given with the best of intentions - will become an enabler, not a solution.
- Children grow up quickly, far more quickly than the debate will end or systematic change will occur.

Kevin and I support your choice wherever you decide to adopt from. Some little girl is going to be so lucky to find herself in your lives!
